Into the Cat's Head

Let me take a moment to introduce myself. By introduce I don't mean the normal formalities of name, where I live, what are my favorite things and so forth. Let's leave that stuff to the hotties and the teen heartthrobs in those oh so popular magazines. Just admit it, you don't care what my likes and dislikes are. Here are the facts: 1. You don't know me & chances are you'll never meet me. 2. Reading about my personal preferences will not effect your current life in any way. 3. If you're still reading at this point I've definately held your attention longer than I would have if I had listed my faves. Ok, so on to the introduction. Who am I? Who knows who they really are? I certainly don't. I'm the person that lies awake at night thinking about nothing & everything. I try to transfer my inner most thoughts to paper or canvas and come up with some really bizarre stuff. I write stories, most of which I have not finished. Ever notice beginnings and ends are easy? It's the middle that gets tricky. Have I lost you yet? If you've stuck with me thus far then rest assured I won't take up much more of your time with my ramblings. Feel free to browse through my artwork and enjoy my site. Meow

I like to work in a vast range of mediums. In other words, I'll try anything once and if I like it I'll do it again & again. I have worked with oils, acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, pen & ink, pencil, pastels, glass painting, photography & most recently have found a new love in the nearly limitless medium of digital art. I would like to venture into sculpting as well but have neither the time or facility to do so at this time.

Reflection of the Week

If ignorance is bliss then why are we always looking for answers?

Cat's Eye View

The question I am most often asked is, "where do your ideas come from." My immediate answer is, "I did alot of drugs in high school." In short, I have chronic insomnia and most images come to me as I'm tossing & turning on any given sleepless night. I see an image in my mind and then decide what medium I will need to create said image. Sounds easy, right? Well it doesn't always work out that way, sometimes it turns into something completely different & sometimes it ends up in the trash bin. Ahhh, and sometimes that perfect transition occurs when it emerges just as I envisioned it and that makes me smile.
